Pet Comity’s Story
The soft coo of rescued doves, the happy scampering of playful guinea pigs, the sparkling eyes of rabbit kittens and the joyous tail-wags of pups we fostered – these were the sounds and sensations that filled our Jaipur childhood. Sisters Uttaranshy (uttarānśī: /ʊtːəraːnʃiː/) and Sarika (sārikā: /saːrɪkaː/) were raised in a home where love for animals was boundless. We shared our space with rabbits, parrots, even gentle rats, each creature leaving an unforgettable mark on our hearts.
These furry, feathered, and scaled companions weren’t just pets; they were teachers. Their unconditional love and unique personalities sparked a deep understanding. Last year, this desire to learn even more led us to become certified dog trainers, eager to strengthen the bond between humans and their canine companions. As we grew older, our paths diverged. Uttaranshy found success as a screen and creative writer in Mumbai, while Sarika pursued her artistic talents on stage after graduating from the National School of Drama. But that deep connection to the animal world, fostered by our early experiences, remained a constant thread.
And so, Pet Comity was born. It’s a space where our shared passion takes flight. Uttaranshy uses her writing to illuminate the human-animal bond, offering knowledge and positive guidance rooted in her childhood experience. Sarika pours her love for animals into crafting beautiful, handmade toys for pets and their humans alike, that bring a touch of magic to everyday life.

Animals have always been my source of inspiration. Our home was a sanctuary for creatures of all kinds – cherished dogs and cats, playful parrots, even rescued bunnies who taught me so much about gentle care and the importance of creating safe and enriching habitats. This early exposure ignited my passion, leading me to become a certified dog trainer. The journey of understanding our animal companions is never-ending. I embrace it with unwavering enthusiasm, constantly researching diverse pets, their grooming, health, and care to share with our community. Now, through Pet Comity, my writing aims to bridge the gap between humans and their animal companions. My goal is to create a community where we can share stories, learn from each other, and celebrate the incredible ways animals enrich our lives.
